VARIATIONS

These are a few optional things you can do to spice up the game.

REGULAR DECK

The game can be played with a normal deck of playing cards.

Card:

Equivalent:

King Wild Draw Four
Jack Wild
Ace 1
8 of Hearts & Diamonds Ocho Rojo

Prime numbers are the same.  All other cards are ignored.

Note:  You will end up drinking a lot more in this version for 3 reasons...

1) It is MUCH harder to use the tokens by the end of the game, because the rounds are half as long, which means you'll have to drink more at the end.
2) The frequency of red eights is slightly more than doubled, since there are now 2 per 52 card deck, whereas with an Uno deck, there are 2 per 108.
3)  There aren't as many "dead" cards to fill up space between drinking cards (i.e. Draw Twos, Reverses, etc.).

"OCHO ROJO DEL MUERTE"

"Red Eight of Death"  This is not for the feint of heart.  Instead of playing with beer, you play with 40s.  Prepare to be destroyed.  Note: there is the potential of having to drink as much as FIVE 40s in just 2 rounds.

MANDITORY SHOT

When the Ocho Rojo is drawn, player MUST take a shot.

UBER-PENALTIES

Instead of the exact 5 and 15 second penalties, player in question must drink for the amount of time that was last drank.  Example:  A few people have to drink for 12 seconds.  One person forgets to count...that person now must drink for 12.  Another example:  Some people must drink for 12 seconds.  One of them forgets to drink...he/she must now drink for 24 seconds (that's the original 12 plus the 12-second penalty).

DEVESTATION RULE

Upon drawing a Wild Draw Four, normally the player would double the total of all prime numbers drawn, then deal out that amount of time to the player(s) of his/her choice.  In this variation, the prime numbers added and doubled, as usual.  However, everyone playing must drink for that total.  For example, if you've got 4 people playing and they draw a WDF, a 4, a 7 and a 3, everyone must drink for 20.  (3+7) x 2 = 20
